Apple has today announced their version of Google’s “Google My Business” tool called Apple Business Connect which allows businesses to edit and enhance their listings on Apple Maps.
Apple has ever so slightly gained the majority of mobile device usage, which means Apple Maps are more likely used by mobile users than Google maps. Not forgetting the same Apple maps are also closely integrated into MacOS, iPadOS, WatchOS and Apple’s CarPlay, there’s very good reason for any business to create their Apple Business Connect listing already.
Apple have also announced upcoming technology to further enhance these listings (beyond the current “Call” and “Website”) is coming to us in the UK soon, with things like ordering products, booking tickets or reservations and more, so there’s even more reason to create a free listing!
Yes, creating a listing is free! It needs to be verified with a business document such as insurance or utility bill including the company address which is a manual process and can take a few days.
Once verified you’ll be able to add additional features like photos, logos and branding to help make your listing really stand out.
Given Apple’s previewed plans to enhance their CarPlay service which is going to make your phone a much bigger part of your car’s displays and controls, it’s very exciting to see where this could lead and being able to get in for free at these early stages is an offer that’s not to be missed!
